Description:

Purpose of Position: Under the supervision of the Shop Foreman, the Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guidelines.

Supervises: N/A

Essential Job Functions:

  • Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems.
  • Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor instructions.
  • Maintains correct time punches and work order processes.
  • Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy required.
  • Tags all parts required to follow warranty procedure.
  • Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
  • Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
  • Follows safety procedures.

Required Skills/ Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Preferred Education:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Technical training education

Preferred Experience:
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year welding and fabricating experience

Other Preferred Qualifications:
  • CDL License
  • ASE certification a plus
  • Freightliner certification
  • Welding and Fabricating certifications
