Location: Abilene, TX or Santa Teresa, NM
This position will begin in either Abilene, TX or Santa Teresa, NM. Candidates must be open to relocation based on project needs, skill development, and career growth opportunities.
Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Programs aligned with NQA-1, ISO 9001, and mission-critical data center standards. Lead and conduct internal, external, and supplier audits specifically tied to M/E systems, commissioning phases, and critical-path installation activities. Ensure full compliance with client-specific requirements, Uptime Institute best practices, and applicable industry codes and regulatory frameworks. Manage and mentor QA/QC professionals and auditors across multiple data center sites. Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to embed quality processes throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee audit planning, execution, corrective actions, and preventive action programs. Maintain and analyze key quality metrics to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement in M/E installation and testing. Serve as the primary point of contact for client quality representatives and regulatory assessments. Support supplier qualification, surveillance activities, and factory witness testing for major MEP equipment. Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and turnover of all quality-related records, including commissioning documentation, ITPs, and system verification packages.
15+ years of quality assurance and auditing experience, with significant exposure to data center construction, mechanical/electrical systems, or mission-critical infrastructure. Active NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification (required). Strong working knowledge of NQA-1, ISO 9001, NEC, ASME, API, and applicable M/E construction standards. Proven leadership abilities and experience managing cross-functional quality teams. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with QA software, audit tools, and reporting platforms. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (preferred).
