Job Title: Maintenance Manager

My client is a leading AI cloud infrastructure provider delivering large-scale GPU clusters for AI training and inference. Their vertically integrated platform is supported by a growing portfolio of grid-connected data centres and powered campuses across renewable-rich regions in North America. Focused on sustainability and high-performance compute, they design, build, own, and operate critical infrastructure supporting the future of AI and advanced computing.

The Maintenance Manager plays a key leadership role within a large-scale data centre campus environment, overseeing skilled multi-disciplinary teams across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and facilities operations. Working closely with engineering, construction, and contractor partners, this individual will help drive operational excellence, uptime, safety, and continuous improvement across mission-critical infrastructure.

Key Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred
• Minimum 8 years' experience within critical infrastructure operations such as data centres, substations, industrial power, manufacturing, or similar environments
• Minimum 5 years' leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams within a 24/7 mission-critical environment
• Strong understanding of electrical safety practices including LOTO and energized work controls
• Experience planning and executing complex work within high-risk, uptime-sensitive environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear operational and executive-level updates
• Experience supporting MV/HV power systems including switchgear, breakers, transformers, substations, switching and energisation activities preferred
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA requirements, and high-risk work planning preferred
• Experience managing PM/CM programmes, CMMS systems, backlog management, and asset reliability initiatives preferred
• Familiarity with BMS, EPMS, SCADA, or DCIM monitoring platforms preferred

Responsibilities

• Champion a zero-compromise safety culture across all operations and contractor activities
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, LOTO, energized work controls, and permitting processes
• Maintain operational excellence across critical infrastructure systems including HV substations, UPS, generators, switchgear, power monitoring, cooling systems, and advanced liquid cooling technologies
• Lead coordinated responses to alarms, trips, and system failures while maintaining uptime and reliability
• Own maintenance execution including preventative and corrective maintenance planning, work order quality, audits, and documentation
• Lead and develop a 24/7 operations workforce, setting clear expectations and accountability standards
• Manage contractor and vendor relationships including scheduling, safety compliance, and quality assurance
• Support commissioning, energisation, and expansion projects in partnership with engineering and construction teams
• Maintain operational procedures, permits, switching plans, equipment logs, and incident documentation
